There are many balance boards and other pieces of fitness equipment on the market that claim to help you get in shape. With so many to choose from, it can be hard to determine what is worth spending money on. Take a look at our Simply Fit Board review to find out if this is the board you’ve been looking for.
Pros of the Simply Fit Board
This board is a total body workout using just a small piece of equipment. It is possible to achieve a full body workout and still work out in a tiny area. You can use this tool to fully engage and tone your entire body without much effort. By using a unique twisting motion and the balance board’s pivoting action, you can feel your muscles working.
The best part is that it comes with a full workout DVD and user guide. At first, the device’s uses seems very limited, however this is not the case. The DVD that comes with the Simply Fit Board package offers up several additional exercises. These add quite a variety to a regular workout routine.
To improve your workout routine, the DVD also features six exercises that are designed to increase the effectiveness of the this tool. This DVD and board will help you achieve stronger abs, legs and arms easily and effectively. If the routine gets to be too easy as your strength builds, it is easy to adjust the workout and include weights.
Many people strictly use heavy and immobile pieces of fitness equipment before and it is a pain when you want to work out in a different location. Thankfully, it is designed to be portable as it only weighs 3 pounds. It is easy to transport to the gym or even outside on a nice day.
Another thing to consider about fitness equipment is that it just isn’t always sturdy for heavier people. With the Simply Fit Board that is not the case. It can hold a maximum of 400 pounds. That is astounding and shows the quality the company put into making this product.
Cons of the Simply Fit Board
It is fairly difficult to find much wrong with this piece of equipment. So many people are on the Simply Fit Board bandwagon now. What many chalked up to an As Seen on TV gimmick, you can now truly see the value in this ingenious tool. With that being said, there are a couple of things that could be improved.
First, it is designed to work on carpets. The manufacturer states it clearly that you want to use it on carpets and it quickly becomes obvious why this is best. When used on a hardwood floor, it loses its grip and will slip and slide. This can make a workout quite difficult and frustrating if not dangerous.
There are some simple solutions that will remedy this situation. You could purchase a tight, woven area rug to place under it during your usage. This mimics a carpet and the will stabilize it and will no longer slip around the floor. The other options would be to use a mat that has a rubber backing on it. Again, this creates the traction needed to hold the it in place. Knowing this before you purchase the Simply Fit Board will save you some headaches as you can properly prepare yourself.
The other downside is only applicable if you have trouble balancing. I will admit that getting onto the board for the first few times can be tricky to get the hang of. At first, it might be best to get on it while holding onto a chair or other solid piece of furniture. Thankfully, balance can be easily learned and the muscles will be trained to do it naturally. It just takes a little patience to strengthen those muscles so you can stand strong on the this device.
Using the Simply Fit Board
By just looking at the board, it could be difficult to understand how to utilize it. Aside from watching the DVD and reading the User Manual, here are some simple steps to get you started.
- Place your feet evenly on the outer edges of the balance board. Use the textured circles on it as a guide on where to stand.
- At first, you might want to hold onto a stable object, such as a chair, when you step on. This will help you to get your initial balance.
- Once you feel steady, you can slowly start rocking from side to side or front to back. Take your time and just get a feel for the this device.
- When you feel comfortable, begin twisting at your core. It won’t be long before you start to feel the gentle burn.
- Once you’ve mastered the basics of the board, be sure to watch the DVD. There are lots of additional exercises for the more advanced user such as planks, push-ups, squats and so much more.
